Marketing Specialist
Full-time position (1 position available)
Location: Vienna, VA
- Track market trends, monitor hair and beauty industry statistics and seasonal demand fluctuations in the light of the overall economic conditions to evaluate existing and potential service opportunities for Salon Otony;
- Identify and monitor primary competitors among local hair salons, analyze their pricing policies and methods of promotion in order to suggest proper positioning for Salon Otony;
- Collect and analyze information on customers’ preferences, needs and demands, expectations and concerns while choosing a place for hair styling to ensure that hair styling experience offered by Salon Otony is in compliance with expectations and needs of the targeted auditory;
- Ensure timely coverage of special events (hair shows, fashion shows, presentations, etc.) through ongoing press releases, magazine releases and feature stories targeted at key Internet content communities and other media outlets;
- Work with outsourced marketing agencies, coordinate design and production of flyers and booklets, maintain company’s website content well-organized and up-to-date;
- Develop and maintain Salon Otony business communication network and analyze steps for business expansion;
Knowledge/skills required:
Utilized the knowledge of appropriate computer applications and software to perform the above-mentioned duties: PowerPoint, Microsoft Access; Microsoft Project, Adobe Systems Adobe Acrobat.
Demonstrated proficiency with marketing methods, namely SWOT analysis, BCG matrix, Pareto Analysis.
Required experience/education:
At least 6 months of proven experience in Marketing, Business, Business Administration field. Min. BS in Marketing/Business Administration/Business/all related

Hairstylist
Full-time position (2 positions available)
Location: Vienna, VA
- Analyze patrons’ hair and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty treatment and suggest hair styles;
- Cut, trim and shape hair or hairpieces, based on customers’ instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors;
- Shampoo, rinse, condition, and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid soap, and other solutions;
- Demonstrate and sell hair care products and cosmetics;
- Update and maintain customer information records, such as beauty services provided;
- Schedule client appointments;
Required experience/education:
At least 6 months of proven experience as hairstylist, hairdresser, all rel. Min. High School Degree required. Hairdresser License or Certification required.
Knowledge/skills required:
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Data base user interface and query software, Calendar and scheduling software.
